This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
When you see a need for better service or an improved product, what do you do? Do you make a suggestion or submit a complaint? Not if you ask Dennis and Jill Jenkins. They'll tell you any need to improve is an opportunity. It was for them. They decided to start cleaning buildings after being frustrated with the low quality of cleaning in their workplace. That was back in 1971.
Now, more than 30 years later, they, along with their two sons Michael and Joseph Jenkins, own and operate Laser Chem Commercial Cleaning, one of the largest cleaning companies in Salt Lake.
Laser Chem serves more than 200 accounts along the Wasatch Front, including Zions Bank, ADT Security and the Better Business Bureau.
Michael, the company's president, told me that for everyone at Laser Chem, cleaning is a science and a process. He said they've found success in using and teaching a process of cleaning called OS1 or Operating System One. It is basically a comprehensive training, work loading and scheduling system that reduces cleaning costs while increasing efficiency, cleaning levels and moral. In short, the OS1 system allows Laser Chem and its franchisees to be more productive and more competitive so clients get more value.
Clients also get immediate response. Through Laser Chem's Responsive Online Communication, clients can contact the company and receive a response within minutes 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Michael said, to his knowledge, Laser Chem is the only commercial cleaning company with such a system. He said it saves clients time and money and enables them to be more productive with other aspects of their job.
The people at Laser Chem have also been an important aspect in the company's success. Michael said employees are appreciated and recognized for their involvement, which gives them opportunities to grow and expand their talents and abilities much like Dennis and Jill Jenkins they saw a need for better cleaning more than 30 years ago.
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
