COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A Spokane man has died after a water skiing accident at an Idaho lake.

The Coeur d'Alene Press reports (http://bit.ly/2aIYqi5 ) that Bonner County Sheriff's Det. Phil Stella says 43-year-old Daniel McGinnity was skiing behind a boat driven by family members on Thursday when he hit the dock at Priest Lake.

Stella says it's not clear whether McGinnity was trying to ski into the dock or to splash other relatives on the dock. He says alcohol does not appear to be a factor and criminal charges are not expected to be filed.

McGinnity was taken to Priest Lake State Park's Lionhead unit and pronounced dead before being transported by helicopter.
