THIS IS LARRY MANKIN FROM THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT

Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel changes. Erica Ekstrom and Adrienne Nelson have joined Ramsey Group Real Estate as realtors. Craig Ashcroft was made a Principal with Carollo Engineers. Questar elected Patrick Early, Richard Flury, James Harmon, and “Nick” Rose to three-year terms on its Board of Directors. Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation elected David Coghlan and Dr. William Schneider, Jr. to its Board of Directors. NextQuo added Kurt Williams as Chief Technology Officer and as a Partner to the firm. George Condrat has joined Kleinfelder as a Senior Engineer.

According to the Utah Association of REALTORS®, the average price of a Utah home (excluding Park City) is $151,457, which is two percent lower than last year.

According to the EDCU, Siebel Systems, Inc. will be increasing their employee base in Salt Lake by 420 and anticipate ultimately that they will employ over 600 people.

Here’s a Chamber History Fact: The first President of the Salt Lake Chamber, William Nelden, was a prime promoter of the original Salt Palace, which opened in 1899. The first Salt Palace was covered in salt crystals that would sparkle in the sun.

The Chamber’s most patriotic event of the year is the Salt Lake Military Salute on June 15th. Join us in honoring our brave citizen/soldiers who put their lives on hold to protect our freedom. For more information call the Chamber at 328-5080 or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
