INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Former top editors of newspapers in Anderson, Bloomington and Marion and an advocate for high school journalists are among five people who will be inducted into the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame in September.
Those being honored are Ed Breen, the former managing editor of The (Marion) Chronicle-Tribune and a former assistant managing editor of The (Fort Wayne) Journal Gazette; Diana Hadley, executive director of the Indiana High School Press Association; John Norberg, a longtime investigative writer and columnist for the (Lafayette) Journal & Courier; Bill Shrader, former editor of The (Bloomington) Herald-Times and general manager of The (Bedford) Times-Mail; and the late Jim Bannon, who was editor of The (Anderson) Herald-Bulletin.
Former state Rep. Steven Moberly will receive the group's Distinguished Service Award for being the principal sponsor the Indiana Open Door Law when it was adopted in 1977.
They will be recognized during a Sept. 17 ceremony at the Columbia Club in Indianapolis.
