TROON, Scotland (AP) — Golf fans are still dissecting the outstanding play of Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson yesterday in the fourth round of the British Open. It's not often that a golfer can shoot a 65 in the closing round of a major and lose by three shots but that's what happened to Mickelson as Stenson closed out his win with a 63.

UNDATED (AP) — The two other golf tournaments yesterday needed playoffs to determine a winner. For the men, Aaron Baddeley sank a 24-foot putt to win the PGA's Barbasol Championship, while Lydia Ko was the winner of the LPGA's Marathon Classic. For Ko, the win is her fourth of the season.

UNDATED (AP) — There were two auto races yesterday with IndyCar action taking place in Toronto while the Sprint Cup circuit was in New Hampshire. The winner of the street race in Toronto was Will Power while Matt Kenseth won at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Tony Stewart finished second in that race.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Backup center Anderson Varejao (VAR'-eh-zhoh) has signed on for another season with Golden State. He averaged 2.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 22 games with the Warriors after signing with them last February. The 33-year-old Brazilian has averaged 7.4 points and 7.3 boards over 613 career NBA games.

UNDATED (AP) — Forward Alex Killorn (kih-LOHRN') and the Tampa Bay Lightning have avoided arbitration by agreeing to terms on a seven-year, $31.15 million contract. The 26-year-old has 53 goals and 138 points in 272 regular-season games.
