(KSL News) The economy has forced officials in Eagle Mountain to raise garbage-collection fees.
Effective immediately, the cost of the first garbage can will be raised 50 cents to $11, and the second can will cost an additional 25 cents, going up to $6.25.
In addition, all customers will be charged a one dollar fuel surcharge.
A spokeswoman for the city says the increase is needed to meet contract obligations.
