(KSL News) Salt Lake County detectives say three people were involved in an ATV hit-and-run in Sandy that left a dog with its front legs broken.

On August 2, an ATV crashed into Lori Ferrell's front gate. The gate slammed into her American Eskimo dog, Strider Prince.

The dog suffered two broken legs, but detectives say the people responsible had no idea there was a dog in the front yard.

Strider's owner isn't pressing charges because the young adults involved are paying for the dog's medical bills.
