According to Zions Bank, economic growth in Utah has continued at a solid pace during 2001. Even though Utah’s growth pace has slowed, it remains among the nation’s strongest state economies. A slight increase in Utah’s growth rate is expected next year because of the Olympics.

Two major Utah printers have combined assets. Color Litho Lab, a 32 year old commercial printer, and Printech, another commercial printer, will be known as Printech/Color Litho.

The Utah Olympic Public Safety Command, together with the assistance of the FBI and the Interagency Operations Security Staff, offers companies an Olympic Safety Briefing tomorrow, August 7th, at the BYU Conference Center room 2258. The morning session begins at 8 a.m. and ends at noon. Call 257-2745 for more information.

Here’s an Olympic business fact: This week we are talking about 5 of the 10 Olympic Sports Venues. The Ice Sheet at Ogden is where all the Olympic Curling events will be held. The Ice Sheet seats 2,000 people and is about 45 minutes from the Olympic Village.

The Chamber President’s Ambassadors are the membership advocates and representatives of the Chamber. This years President’s Ambassador of the Year is Tim Brogdon of New England Financial.
