Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel changes. Randall Mackey was named chairman and Dr. Norman Riggs was named vice chairman of the Salt Lake Community College Board of Trustees. The Economic Development Corporation of Utah announced the selection of Jeff Edwards as Vice President of Client Services.

According to the Utah Construction Report, during the first quarter of 2001, Utah’s residential and nonresidential construction activity showed no sign of recession and reached an all-time high of $975.2 million dollars in permit-authorized construction.

Susan Sears & Associates, a Public Relation and Advertising Firm, announced that DeCotiisErhard, R & G Medical Consultants, and Rocky Mountain Events have hired the agency to create and execute communications campaigns.

Here’s an Olympic business fact: During the Sydney Olympics, residents were asked how well organized the city was for the games. About a month before the games only 42 percent thought the city was “very well” or “well” organized. Two weeks into the games the residents’ positive assessment rose to 95 percent.
