NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — The University of Oklahoma softball coaching staff has been named the Division I National Coaching Staff of the Year by the National Fastpitch Association.

The staff of head coach Patty Gasso associate head coach Melyssa Lombardi, assistant coach J.T. Gasso, volunteer assistant coach Andrea Gasso and director of operations Jackie Livingston were selected after leading OU to a 57-8 season record and the third national championship in program history.

This is the third time the OU staff has been named Coaching Staff of the Year. The previous selections came after OU won national titles in 2000 and 2013.

OU began the season ranked No. 9 and was as low as No. 14 before rallying and entering the postseason ranked No. 3, then winning the national championship.
