BAGHDAD (AP) — After more than two years of Islamic State extremist control, Iraq is back in control of Fallujah. A senior Iraqi commander says a month-long military operation has now "fully liberated" the city. Troops have entered the last area to remain under IS control.

CLENDENIN, W.Va. (AP) — With at least 24 people dead and hundreds more homeless after devastating floods, West Virginians in the worst affected areas can now anticipate federal aid after President Barack Obama signed a disaster declaration and offered condolences. Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin's administration still believes there are people missing in Greenbrier County. Federal officials already are assessing damage.

LAKE ISABELLA, Calif. (AP) — Firefighters in central California will try to confirm today whether remains found in a burned out house are human or animal. The find was made during a count of homes burned by a raging wildfire that left at least two people dead already. Lighter winds are helping firefighters make gains fighting the blaze that's burned 150 homes.

BEIJING (AP) — The death toll is now at least 35 after a long-distance bus caught fire after slamming into a guardrail in the central Chinese province of Hunan. Local authorities say 20 people were injured. The Hunan provincial highway police bureau says the driver is being held for questioning.

NEW YORK (AP) — it's expected to be a different atmosphere today at gay pride parades in New York, San Francisco and other cities, coming just two weeks after the Florida nightclub shootings. Increased security, anti-violence messages and tributes to those killed in Orlando will be prominent. Celebrations are planned around such themes as supporting transgender people and pressing for economic justice.
