WASHINGTON (AP) — Police say they arrested a 17-year-old who threatened to shoot up his ex-girlfriend's high school in Greenbelt — and had the firearm and ammunition to do it.
DC Police Chief Cathy Lanier tells local media that police searched the home of the boy last week after he sent text messages to his ex-girlfriend saying he would kill her and her family. According to court records, police found an AK-47 and more than 180 rounds of ammunition in the teen's home
The boy also posted a sexually explicit video of his ex-girlfriend on Instagram. The girl told police he was angry that she wouldn't date him again.
Court documents say the Greenbelt police intend to charge the boy as a juvenile. He faces charges that include threats of mass violence and possession of child porn.
