SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints says a Mormon missionary serving in Venezuela has been killed in a traffic accident.

Church spokesman Eric Hawkins says 24-year-old Argenis Jesus Gonzalez Villarroel was killed Wednesday afternoon while riding in a taxi that crashed.

KSL-TV reports (http://bit.ly/28TZOOW) Gonzalez belonged to a church stake in Caracas and had served as a missionary in the Venezuelan city of Barcelona since May 2015.
