(KSL News) Two families escaped a house fire in Kearns this morning.
It happened around 9 a.m. near 5400 South and 5400 West.
Homeowners started a barbecue then went inside. When someone returned to check on the barbecue, they found flames had engulfed the deck and the back of the house.
The families got out of the home uninjured and called 911.
Damage is estimated at $75,000 to $100,000.
