MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — The Manchester Health Department says the public beach at Crystal Lake was closed due to elevated levels of E. coli bacteria.
WMUR-TV (http://bit.ly/28PQ20w ) reports that officials say the beach was closed Tuesday after elevated bacteria levels were found in water samples taken at the beach on Monday.
Samples taken at other locations on the lake didn't find elevated levels of the bacteria.
The health department will sample the area again on Wednesday. Samples are expected on Thursday.
Officials will re-open the public beach for swimming when E. coli levels are at an acceptable level.
