SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Former Utah congressman Jim Matheson has been named the new leader of a national group representing nonprofit electric utilities.
The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association announced this week that Matheson would serve as the group's CEO starting in July.
Matheson is a Democrat represented who Utah in Congress for 14 years before deciding not to run for re-election in 2014.
The association represents more than 900 nonprofit rural electric cooperatives and power districts in the U.S.
