PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Negotiations between Pennsylvania's 14 state universities and the union representing faculty members are due to resume this month.
The Philadelphia Inquirer (http://bit.ly/1TSovsq ) reports that negotiating sessions are scheduled for Friday and for June 24.
Faculty at the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education universities have been working without a new contract since the last agreement expired in June of last year.
Union president Ken Mash said if no progress is made over the summer, the union could seek a strike authorization vote in August or September.
The Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculty represents more than 6,000 faculty and coaches at Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, and West Chester universities.
