SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A Utah man was killed this week in a rollover accident on Interstate 70 in Colorado.
It happened on Tuesday about eight miles east of Grand Junction.
Troopers say James C. Smith of Murray was a passenger in a westbound car when a thunderstorm rolled in and caused mud and water to covered the highway. They say that's when the vehicle hydroplaned, went off the side of the highway, hit a post and rolled onto its roof.
Officers say Smith was submerged under water and debris until a passer-by stopped and pulled him out. He was then flown to the hospital, where he later died.
The driver, 76-year-old Rose Smith, also of Murray, suffered injuries.
