RED DEER, Alberta (AP) — Adam Helewka scored twice and the host Red Deer Rebels beat the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 5-2 on Sunday night to improve to 1-1 in the Memorial Cup junior tournament.

Jake DeBrusk added a goal and two assists, Evan Polei and Haydn Fleury also scored, and Rylan Toth made 22 saves for Red Deer. The Rebels opened Friday night with a 6-2 loss to the Ontario Hockey League champion London Knights, and will finish-round robin play Wednesday night against the Western Hockey League champion Brandon Wheat Kings.

Timo Meier and Julien Nantel scored for Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champion Rouyn-Noranda. The Huskies were coming off an opening 5-3 victory over Brandon on Saturday night. They will face London on Tuesday night.

On Monday night, London will play Brandon.
