MADISON, S.D. (AP) — Madison High School will soon be getting a 2,500-square-foot auto mechanics shop.
The Madison Daliy Leader (http://bit.ly/1T22tq3 ) reports that the school board has hired a Brookings-based architectural firm to conduct design work on the project.
Principal Adam Shaw says the school district still had about $250,000 remaining from a $377,000 career and technical education grant that Madison Central received from the state. The school district is required to use all of the money by Dec. 31.
Shaw says the current auto mechanics course conducted within the CTE curriculum shared the shop currently used by the high school agricultural mechanics program.
Shaw says he has already received approval from state officials to use the grant money to add more shop space to the high school building.
