NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma has suspended Akolda Manyang from the basketball team indefinitely after he was charged with assaulting a former football player.
The school announced the suspension Thursday after Manyang was charged with aggravated assault for an incident on Campus Corner in Norman. Court documents allege Manyang punched former Sooners' football player Tyler Evans in the mouth and broke two of his teeth early Sunday.
Manyang is a 7-foot center who played in 25 games last season and averaged 2.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
