ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — The National Junior College Athletic Association's Division III women's soccer championship is coming to Rockford.

Rock Valley College will host the 2018 tournament at MercyRockford Sportscore 2 in Loves Park, one of four large facilities the city operates to boost sports tourism in northern Illinois.

President of the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau John Groh said the four-day NJCAA tournament in November 2018 was expected to draw around 750 people and have an economic impact of more than $130,000.

The Rockford Register Star reports (http://bit.ly/1T16XvW ) that four other tournaments are scheduled between now and July, including the Rugby Illinois High School and Middle School State Series on May 29 and May 30. Those four events are expected to have a combined economic impact of $330,000.
