(KSL News) -- The Salt Lake County Sheriff's office is getting a new police dog, thanks to a five-thousand dollar donation.
The donation came from Smith's Food and Drug and Milk-Bone. It will allow the police department to buy Sam, a one-year-old Belgian Malinois.
Deputies say Sam is being trained to be a patrol and narcotics dog. When Sam is ready he'll take over for nine-year-old Bruno.
