NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — A Nampa man has been billed for the cost of a 2015 fire in Celebration Park that Bureau of Land Management officials say he started. KIVI-TV reports that Celedonio Perez-Sanchez received a copy of a "Fire Trespass Case Summary" with an itemized breakdown of costs associated with the fire, which burned more than 11 square miles on June 6.
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Southwest Idaho police say a woman and her 6-month-old infant sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a van while crossing a street. Nampa Police Department Sgt. Tim Riha says the baby flew out of the stroller and the woman was pushed to the street in the Wednesday collision.
CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — A Nampa man convicted of sexually abusing children in his home for several years has been sentenced to serve 15 years to life in prison. KIVI-TV reports that Arion Lee Diaz was sentenced Thursday on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor, sexual abuse and aiding and abetting lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor.
BUHL, Idaho (AP) — The discovery of a suspected pipe bomb in south-central Idaho that caused the partial lockdown of schools in Buhl and drew the Twin Falls Police Bomb Squad turned out to be a geocache. Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Lori Stewart says that a high-pressure shot of water on Wednesday burst open the pipe that contained signatures of geocache hunters dating back to 2011.
