MIDVALE — The person found dead inside a burning Midvale house Sunday was killed by the fire, the Unified Fire Authority confirmed Tuesday.

The agency has identified the fire, which ignited around 8 a.m. Sunday at 7260 S. 1035 East, as an accident and say the cause is not suspicious.

Other information about the cause of the fire was not released Tuesday. Investigators were still attempting to identify the body.

Unified Fire Capt. Dan Brown has said the house is considered abandoned, with just a small amount of furniture inside.

Sandy and Murray firefighters assisted the Unified Fire Authority in putting out the fire, which had flames coming out of a window when they arrived, according to Brown.
