FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Austin Allen completed 13 of 19 passes for 141 yards in Arkansas' Red-White scrimmage Saturday, ending a spring in which the junior solidified his status as the Razorbacks starting quarterback entering next season.
The 6-foot-1, 208-pound Allen was named the starter two weeks ago by Arkansas coach Bret Bielema.
He entered the spring as the front runner to replace his older brother, Brandon, at quarterback, and Austin Allen didn't disappoint on Saturday — throwing a 27-yard pass to Keon Hatcher to set up a touchdown and largely performing well in front of a crowd of 30,546.
Allen has been with the Razorbacks for three seasons, and he served as a backup to his older brother the last two years.
