BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — Third-seeded Federico Delbonis advanced to the semifinals of the Nastase Tiriac Trophy on Friday by beating Marco Cecchinato 6-2, 6-2.
The Argentine is seeking his second ATP title this month after winning another clay-court tournament, the Grand Prix Hassan II in Morocco.
Delbonis will next face unseeded Lucas Pouille, who rallied to eliminate seventh-seeded Paolo Lorenzi 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
Defending champion Guillermo Garcia-Lopez also advanced, defeating sixth-seeded Guido Pella 7-6 (5), 3-6, 7-6 (6). The fourth-seeded Spaniard next plays countryman Fernando Verdasco, who defeated Robin Haase 7-6 (6), 6-3.
