UNDATED (AP) — The entertainment world is remembering the artist Prince, who was found dead Thursday morning in his suburban Minneapolis compound. Oprah Winfrey says, "Prince, the doves really are crying now." Mick Jagger says, "Prince's talent was limitless. He was one of the most unique and talented artists of the last 30 years." Earlier this month, Prince postponed an Atlanta concert, saying he had fallen ill with the flu. An autopsy will be performed Friday.

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — As many as 170 countries are expected on Friday to sign the Paris Agreement on climate change, which calls for countries to set their own targets for reducing emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. The United States and China, which together account for nearly 40 percent of global emissions, have said they intend to join this year.

COATZACOALCOS, Mexico (AP) — Mexican oil company Pemex says the death toll from an explosion that ripped through a petrochemical plant on the country's southern Gulf coast is now 24. Pemex also says 19 people remain hospitalized, with 13 in serious condition. Pemex's director told Radio Formula that the explosion was caused by a leak of an as-yet unknown origin.

MANILA, Philippines (AP) — The United States and Britain are warning their citizens to stay off a southern Philippine region where suspected Muslim extremists are behind a wave of kidnappings. Abu Sayyaf (AH'-boo SEYE'-yahf) militants have been suspected of seizing 18 Indonesian and Malaysian crewmen in separate attacks on three slow-moving tugboats, sparking a security alarm in the volatile region.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police in Columbus, Ohio may want to add "beautiful white teeth" to their description of a 46-year-old man accused of stealing $2,500 worth of items in numerous store thefts over the past two months. Police say the man has stolen boxes of Crest Whitestrips in stores in an around Columbus. In one store alone, the man is alleged to have stolen $420 worth of the teeth whitening kits.
