A West Jordan woman was arrested on Sunday following a dispute over a car.
Sgt. Greg Butler, with the West Jordan Police Department, says, "She threatened her husband with a knife. She got a knife out of the kitchen, threatened to cut him and send him to the hospital."
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Whitney Rivers, 18, then allegedly stabbed the walls twice, saying she was practicing to slice her husband's arteries.
Butler says Rivers stabbed the front door and cut the phone lines so her husband couldn't call for help.
He says, "You never know what goes on when passions are up, and people are fighting and arguing, sometimes we do stupid things."
Butlers says Rivers also resisted arrested and spit on a police officer. She is now in the Salt Lake County Jail.
