BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Ada County Prosecutors say they are prepared to charge a Utah inmate with first-degree murder in the decades-old rape and slaying of a Boise girl.
Prosecutors say Wesley Allan Tuttle, 55, is scheduled to appear in a Boise courtroom Monday to be charged in the 1982 death of 14-year-old Lisa Chambers.
The criminal complaint filed in the case accuses Tuttle of strangling the girl with his hands on Nov. 10, 1982. Her body was found weeks later by hunters in a cornfield near the Western Idaho Fairgrounds.
Tuttle, of Draper, Utah, is serving a life sentence on an unrelated 1983 murder conviction.
Last year, investigators got a break in the case when a saliva DNA test entered into a national database identified Tuttle as a suspect.
