MOUNT TRUMBULL, Ariz. — An 87-year-old woman missing since Sunday after walking away from her stranded vehicle along the Arizona Strip was found alive Tuesday afternoon.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that Camille Humphrey was found alive and was being flown to Dixie Regional Medical Center. Her exact condition was not immediately known. Details about where Humphrey was found were also still being collected by the sheriff's spokeswoman.
On Monday, Mohave County search and rescue crews, along with Arizona Fish and Game officers, found a vehicle stuck in the mud about 25 miles south of St. George, according to the sheriff's office.
An elderly female still in the vehicle said she had been stuck since Sunday and her friend, Humphrey, walked away from the vehicle about 6 p.m. that day. The condition of the woman in the car was not immediately released.
The effort to find Humphrey continued Tuesday with search and rescue teams on the ground assisted by a Life Flight helicopter from St. George.
