PINCKNEY, Mich. (AP) — A former elementary school in Livingston County will become a facility used for law enforcement training and public recreational use.

Pinckney Community Schools board members have approved a $200,000 purchase agreement with a Detroit airsoft gun company for the former Pinckney Elementary building. Airsoft guns shoot nonlethal plastic pellets.

The Livingston Daily Press & Argus of Howell (http://bit.ly/23qANyB ) reported Friday that the business will be used for training on weekdays and be open on the weekends for public use.

Pinckney Superintendent Rick Todd says the board believes the business will impact the local economy by bringing more people to the area.
