ATLANTA (AP) — Forecasters say there's a tornado watch in north and central Georgia until 5 p.m. local time today. And severe thunderstorms could shift to southeast Georgia this afternoon. Tornadoes swirled through Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama yesterday, damaging some homes in Columbus, Mississippi. There's no word of any injuries.

KOLKATA, India (AP) — Rescuers in Kolkata, India say there's no hope of finding any more survivors after clearing the crumbled concrete and twisted metal rods from an overpass that collapsed yesterday. At least 24 people are dead and another 80 are injured. Sixty-seven people were pulled from the debris alive, and now the wreckage has been cleared. Police are detaining five officials with the construction company hired to build the overpass.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will release a $10 billion plan today, aimed at revitalizing manufacturing in Syracuse, New York. Clinton is highlighting her work as a senator from New York ahead of the state's primary later this month. She's preparing for a drag-out fight in New York. Rival Bernie Sanders grew up in Brooklyn.

HANCEVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Mourners will be gathering in north of Birmingham, Alabama, today to remember Mother Mary Angelica, the founder of Eternal Word Television Network. Mother Angelica had been in declining health since suffering a severe cerebral hemorrhage on Christmas Eve 2001. She lost her speaking ability and has suffered other less severe strokes. EWTN officials say the funeral Mass for the Roman Catholic nun will begin 11 a.m. local time in Hanceville, Alabama. She was 92.

OCEANSIDE, N.Y. (AP) — A nanny in New York is being credited with saving the life of a 9-month-old boy in her care. Newsday is reporting that the 62-year-old nanny was pushing the boy's stroller Thursday in Rockville Centre when she was struck by a car making a left turn. The woman is in a medically induced coma. The child was not harmed. The driver will not be charged.
