JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (AP) — A former Pulaski County Special School District school bus driver accused of kissing two girls who were passengers on his bus has waived an appeal in the case and accepted a 5-month jail sentence.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://bit.ly/1MCABrD ) reports 35-year-old Leonard Brewster was convicted of misdemeanor harassment and sentenced in July, but he had appealed his sentence, which includes $1,000 in fines and court costs. He withdrew his appeal Monday.
Court documents say the mother of an 11-year-old Pinewood Elementary student reported to Jacksonville police on March 3, 2015, that Brewster had kissed her daughter on the mouth. Police say an investigation determined that Brewster had also kissed a 9-year-old girl on the mouth or face on 13 occasions between Jan. 5, 2015, and March 3, 2015.
Authorities say Brewster sometimes hugged or carried the 9-year-old girl, and told her he loved her.
