PROVO — The famed faux Internet athlete with a face of steel reemerged on YouTube Monday thanks to BYUtv.

The brilliant Scott Sterling character — who debuted when he fiercely defended the net as the goalie of the Yale soccer team in a video that debuted in 2014 — is back at it, but this time he’s playing volleyball.

In the video, Yale and the University of North Carolina are matched up again, albeit in a different sport. The sketch group pitted the infamous Scott Sterling (played by actor Matt Meese), and you better believe his face is going to save the proverbial day.

“Buckle up ladies and gentleman,” the announcers said as they give color commentary on the match, “because Scott Sterling’s face is in the building.”

What ensues are a lot of cringe-worthy spiked volleyballs making contact with “The Great Wall of Sterling.” The hilarity is real.

The original Scott Sterling video premiered on Nov. 14, 2014, and amassed 11 million views in 10 days. The video now boasts a whopping 37 million views.

The new video, posted Monday, reached one million views in less than 24 hours — a first for the BYUtv and Studio C crew.

Sports Center, ESPN and NBC Sports recently promoted the YouTube sketch on Twitter. Enjoy the clip, and in the words of the video’s announcers, “Welcome to the heavyweight bout between Sterling’s face and everything else!”
