ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (AP) — Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is challenging Donald Trump to debate him one-on-one in Wisconsin.

Cruz said Monday he and Trump should face off for two hours on Tuesday night in Milwaukee, instead of appearing separately at a town hall to be broadcast on CNN.

The three-hour event is also to include Ohio Gov. John Kasich. Each of the candidates is to appear for about an hour and take questions from the audience.

But Cruz says the event should be retooled into a debate between him and Trump.

Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks did not immediately return an email seeking comment.

Trump has declined similar proposals from Cruz, a former collegiate debate champion, to square off head-to-head.
