ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A planned apartment complex in Asheville will make it easier for new teachers to find housing in a city where affordable housing can be hard to come by.
The Asheville Citizen-Times reports (http://avlne.ws/1WZLtjl ) that the project which will have 28 units is expected to open by early summer of 2017.
The $2.5 million complex is a partnership between Asheville City Schools and Buncombe County Schools as well as the Center for Social Enterprise, Buncombe County and the State Employees' Credit Union Foundation.
It will provide housing for new teachers moving to the area where it can be hard to find affordable housing.
Officials hope to break ground on the project in October.
