HELSINKI (AP) — Lego says its popular multi-colored toy blocks were in high demand last year in all regions, giving it a tenth consecutive year of strong growth.
The Danish company gave a positive outlook and said it plans to continue global expansion.
Net profit last year was up more than 30 percent from 2014, at 9.2 billion kroner ($1.3 billion), while revenue grew 25 percent to 35.8 billion kroner.
Describing 2015 as a "fantastic year," CEO Joergen Vig Knudstorp said the toy maker estimates that some 100 million children played with Lego products or used Lego's educational materials in schools.
The number of employees grew by more than 15 percent in 2015 to 17,300.
Lego added that more than 90 percent of the waste at its production sites is recycled.
