MURRAY — An unsightly vandalism spree has prompted police to ask the public for help to identify those responsible.

Over the past two weeks, everything from walls, vehicles and even traffic cones between State Street and 900 East on Winchester Boulevard have been tagged with graffiti, according to investigators.

The Murray Police Department posted 58 pictures of the damage to its Facebook page Monday.

"Typically you'll get one here and there and maybe a few in a fairly close area, but to actually have this many different locations and this much done is very rare," Murray officer Kenny Bass said.

Police said they have identified one person of interest, but believe more people were involved in the vandalism incidents.

"Some of it may be cleaned, some of it may be damaged," Bass said. "Definitely if you have property damage, it needs to be replaced, but even then we have to have somebody that's going to come and clean it."

Anyone with information about the case can contact the Murray Police Department by calling 801-840-4000 or sending a message to the department through its Facebook page.
