NEW YORK (AP) — Maodo Lo scored 21 points and had five rebounds and Grant Mullins added 11 points and six steals to lead Columbia past Pennsylvania 63-53 on Friday night.

Leading 28-24 at halftime, the Lions emerged from the break with a 7-0 run in the first two minutes. The Quakers then ran off a 14-2 run to cut the deficit to 41-40 with 11:30 left on Jackson Donahue's 3-pointer.

But Columbia (17-7, 6-1 Ivy League) countered with an 11-0 run over a three-minute span to put the game away. Jeff Coby, who finished with nine points, scored seven points during that surge. Coby's layup with 2:09 to play made it 63-47.

Alex Rosenburg scored 10 points and had eight rebounds for Columbia, which collected 13 offensive rebounds. The Lions were 25-for-59 shooting from the field (42.4 percent) but 7 for 19 (36.8 percent) from the free throw line.

Matt Howard led Penn (8-12, 2-4) with 14 points.
