MILWAUKEE (AP) — Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are debating tonight. They tangled over the costs and practicality of Sanders' plans for expanded government programs. Clinton accused her rival of making promises "that cannot be kept." She said his calls for free tuition at public colleges as well as a government-run, single-payer health care system, come with unrealistic price tags. Sanders says the programs would be financed with taxes on Wall Street speculation.

BEIRUT (AP) — Secretary of State John Kerry says diplomats from the U.S., Russia and other powers meeting in Munich have agreed to work with Syrian parties to implement a "nationwide cessation of hostilities." Kerry says the target is to implement the cease-fire in a week's time. He says that would not apply to the Islamic State group and the extremist al-Nusra Front.

PAJU, South Korea (AP) — Officials say South Korea has cut off power and water supplies to a border factory park in North Korea. It comes a day after the North deported all South Korean workers there and ordered a military takeover of the complex that had been the last major symbol of cooperation between the rivals. It's the latest in an escalating standoff over North Korea's recent rocket launch.

NEW YORK (AP) — An attorney for a New York City police officer convicted of fatally shooting an unarmed man in a dark public housing stairwell says he'll appeal the verdict. Defense attorney Robert Brown says Peter Liang is "distraught" after a jury convicted him of manslaughter and official misconduct today in the 2014 death of 28-year-old Akai Gurley. Liang faces up to 15 years in prison.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — An Arkansas judge is free on bond after being arrested on a complaint of negligent homicide after the death of his 18-month-old son who was left in the back seat of a hot car last summer. Attorneys for Judge Wade Naramore say they disagree with the Garland County prosecutor's decision to bring criminal charges against their client.
