EUREKA, Ill. (AP) — A top adviser to President Barack Obama's election victories will deliver the commencement address at Eureka College May 14.
The Pekin Daily Times reports (http://bit.ly/23UOyXo) that David Axelrod will be the latest in a series of well-known political speakers at the college in north-central Illinois. It's the alma mater of the late President Ronald Reagan.
Axelrod has consulted on more than 150 campaigns, from local to national, over a 40-year career. He also was a reporter and columnist for the Chicago Tribune.
Ed Rollins, the 1984 re-election campaign adviser for Reagan, recently spoke at a Eureka event commemorating Reagan's birthday.
Eureka is 140 miles southwest of Chicago.
