MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — One of two Ball State University trustees who are stepping down from their positions says the moves have nothing to do with the resignation last week of the school president.
Indianapolis residents Frank Hancock and Marianne Glick both submitted resignation letters in December to Gov. Mike Pence, who appoints all nine Ball State trustees.
Hancock tells The (Muncie) Star Press (http://tspne.ws/1nQaL8F ) his decision was unrelated to President Paul Ferguson's resignation after less than 18 months. Hancock says he and Glick both believe the board needs fresh viewpoints and that he's tired after 10 years as a trustee.
Both will remain board members until replacements are appointed.
University officials haven't stated a reason for Ferguson's resignation. He's receiving his base salary of $450,000 for a year under a severance deal.
