KANAB — Police say a man was killed in a structure fire Friday night.
The fire at 510 N. 100 West was reported just after 10:30 p.m. A woman told the first arriving police officers that her husband might still be inside the building, which was described as a shop for a privately owned business, according to the Kanab Police Department.
Firefighters were unable to enter the fully engulfed structure upon arrival. After the fire was contained, crews entered the building and found the remains of a body inside, Kanab Fire Chief Joseph Decker said.
No information was released Saturday about the body. The remains were taken to the state medical examiner's office for identification.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Saturday.
