LYNNWOOD, Wash. (AP) — A woman with mental health problems has been booked into the Lynnwood jail after she brought her dog and a loaded shotgun into the Lynnwood Library.
KOMO-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1Tk1h0Y ) that the library was evacuated Sunday after the woman was found. Police had a brief standoff with the woman, who officers say was talking to herself and pointing the weapon at the ground.
Sgt. Jerry Riener says the woman asked if they were really police officers before finally setting the shotgun down.
Officers say the woman is known within the department and that they believe she may have mental health issues that led her to bring the shotgun to the library.
