WATFORD, England (AP) — Watford beat struggling Newcastle 2-1 Saturday to end its four-game losing streak in the Premier League.
Odion Ighalo scored the opening goal 44 seconds into the second half at Vicarage Road before Craig Cathcart doubled the Hornets' lead in the 58th minute.
Jamaal Lascelles pulled one back for the Magpies, but the defeat for Newcastle sees Steve McClaren's side remain in the relegation zone with 21 points from 23 games.
Midtable Watford has 32 points.
