UNDATED (AP) — Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant has been selected to the NBA All-Star game for the 18th time after receiving a league-high 1.9 million votes. Bryant will be joined in the Western Conference lineup by MVP Stephen (STEH'-fehn) Curry of Golden State, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, and San Antonio's Kawhi (kah-WY') Leonard. Cleveland's LeBron James and Indiana's Paul George will start for the East on Feb. 14 with New York's Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane (dwayn) Wade of Miami and Toronto's Kyle Lowry.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Bucks say Jason Kidd is expected to resume his coaching duties next Tuesday against Orlando. Kidd has missed 15 games and has been recovering from right hip surgery performed on Dec. 21. He says he received a good report from his doctor last week in New York and is ahead of schedule on his recovery.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart and defensive end Jared Allen returned to practice yesterday as the team prepares for Sunday's NFC championship game against the visiting Arizona Cardinals. Head coach Ron Rivera held Stewart out of Wednesday's practice as a precaution after he missed the final three regular-season games with a foot injury. Rivera said earlier in the week that Allen was "doubtful" because of a broken foot but now says the lineman may be elevated to questionable depending on how he feels today.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Chris Davis has signed the richest contract in the history of the Baltimore Orioles, a seven-year package worth $161 million. Davis paced the majors with 47 home runs last season while scoring 100 times and driving in 117 runs. Davis leads the majors with 159 home runs since 2012 and ranks fourth with 412 RBIs during that period.

LA QUINTA, Calif. (AP) — Jason Dufner is among a quartet that shares the lead through one round of the PGA's CareerBuilder Challenge. Dufner, Jerry Kelly, Jeff Overton and Anirban Lahiri each opened with 8-under 64s, putting them one stroke better than Colt Knost and Jamie Lovemark. Phil Mickelson is back after a long layoff, shooting a 4-under 68 in his first start since the Presidents Cup in October.
