CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) — Leo Vincent scored 18 points off the bench as Southern Illinois beat Indiana State 79-66 on Wednesday night.

Vincent finished with 4-of-6 shooting from the field including two from distance for the Salukis (17-3, 6-1 Missouri Valley Conference). Sean O'Brien added 13 points, four rebounds and three assists. Southern Illinois had 10 team steals which contributed to 20 team turnovers by Indiana State.

An O'Brien 3-pointer gave Southern Illinois a 20-10 advantage midway through the first half and the Salukis led 40-34 at the break.

In the second half, Indiana State closed the gap to five points, 51-46, with 12:54 to play but an 18-9 surge capped by a Vincent dunk extended the Salukis' lead to 76-60 with 3:10 remaining and they cruised from there.

Devonte Brown scored 26 points with six rebounds for the Sycamores (10-9, 4-3). Everett Clemons grabbed 16 rebounds.
