Stony Brook tops Hartford 77-43 for 10th straight win

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Rayshaun McGrew scored 16 points, Jameel Warney had 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Stony Brook beat Hartford 77-43 on Monday for its 10th consecutive victory.

The winning streak is tied for the longest in Stony Brook's Division I history.

Lucas Woodhouse added 13 points and Carson Puriefoy 11 for Stony Brook (14-4, 5-0 America East), which is off to its best 18-game start the D-I era. Ahmad Walker had eight points and tied a career high with 12 rebounds as the Seawolves outrebounded Hartford 47-27.

Evan Cooper led Hartford (6-13, 1-3) with 10 points. The Hawks' leading scorer, Pancake Thomas, was held to eight points on 4-of-16 shooting.

Hartford did not get on the board until Justin Graham's layup at the 10:51 mark. Stony Brook closed the first half on a 9-3 run for a 32-17 lead and opened the second half on a 9-0 run for a 24-point lead.
