TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Shalethia Stringfield scored a career-high 22 points and No. 19 South Florida defeated East Carolina 75-54 on Sunday.
Courtney Williams, who beat the Lady Pirates with a last-second shot in their first meeting this season on Jan. 2, added 21 points and 11 rebounds for her sixth double-double for the Bulls (12-4, 5-1 American). Laura Ferreira put in 16 points.
Jada Payne scored 13 points and I'Tiana Taylor had 11 points and 13 rebounds, her 10th double-double for East Carolina (8-10, 2-4), which had a two-game winning streak snapped.
The Bulls led 32-30 at halftime and were up 11 after Ferreira scored seven straight points and Williams added a 3-pointer to end the third period. ECU got no closer than nine early in the fourth, and an 11-0 run, with seven points from Stringfield, put USF ahead by 23 with 1:32 to go.
